I am a flutist and flute teacher in Chicago.

Through my academic studies and my experiences as a flutist and music instructor, I have come to realize that great musicianship demands various forms of intelligence—intellectual, physical, emotional, and psychological, among others.

Performer

I am a classically trained flutist who performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and member of larger ensembles. I am available for recital and concert performances as well as special events such as weddings, parties, and corporate gatherings.

Performance Details

Teacher

I teach flute in a variety of settings, including private lessons, group lessons, masterclasses, and workshops. I also coach chamber ensembles and provide music theory and music history instruction. I instruct flutists at all levels of playing, beginner through advanced, and I enjoy teaching all ages of students.

My academic research, to date, has focused largely on music theory and contemporary music. My dissertation (Ph.D., NYU) examines musical form from analytical, perceptual, and experiential standpoints. Although the word “research” conjures images of piles of books and journals, research in music encompasses far more than sources on paper.
